Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of heroes who will separate from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might look mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his own means, entering the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could assist the party reach locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Seekers and Schemers parties.
Fans can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
